Since the introduction of Amp1 I have tested many prototypes for a Balanced version of Amp1, none of them allowed me to pack the performance and simplicity of Amp1 into a Balanced package for the price point I was shooting for. So instead of creating a new Amp1, I decided to use a PAIR instead. This makes the ideal upgrade for those of you who already own Amp1, and want to take a step further into the world of Balanced headphone.

Battery1 is a low cost battery solution for Amp1 or any other amplifier/preamp/phono stage compatible with the voltage and current battery1 provides. Get away from dirty mains power and provide Amp1 with clean reliable battery power. The noise floor of Amp1 virtually disappears and presents a level of detail normally only provided by far more expensive equipment.
Portable1Balanced Portable Headphone Amplifier
Portable1 is loosely based on the Amp1 architecture however through design testing, revisions and improvement the final product is hands down a spectacular upgrade from Amp1 (A balanced version of Amp1 will be available soon implementing the Portable1 design in a desktop format) – The synergy between Portable1 and all headphones I’ve tested has been wonderful, some of the headphones literally transformed going from single ended to balanced. The AKG K240 Sextetts had the most drastic improvement, becoming one of my favourite headphones for vocals and acoustic instruments.
